I wanted to stand up against Instagram's absurd nipple policy : "It includes some photos of female nipples, but photos of post-mastectomy scarring and women actively breastfeeding are allowed. Nudity in photos of paintings and sculptures is OK, too." ( Instagram, 2020)
Men however, are allowed to go bare chested on this social media platform, which is an issue in and of itself. They should be promoting no shirtless photographs for anyone or allowing everyone to do it without gender bias.
I creatively came up with the idea to photograph a model shirtless and print it on a sports bra. I intended to have a tag on the sports bra reading "Instagram Approved" with a checkmark beside it.
I am trying to fight the ridiculous policies that are in place and that are only targeting women. They are sexualizing the female nipple when it shouldn't be!
